So, I don't know if this is just me, but I'm starting to get annoyed with this book. Holden is driving me insane. His repetitive words and phrases, his constant need for friends, even his sarcastic sense of humor drives me crazy! Maybe he wouldn't be depressed if he tried to think more positively about things and not psychoanalyze everything and everyone around him.
I can understand why serial killers read this book because slowly and surely, this book could depress even the most happy of people. Like santa or happy the dwarf.

i agree i am even getting depressed reading this book even in my life ill see something and think wow that would depress holden. and the book is starting to annoy me how he cant enjoy anthing. holden just reminds me of dpat because all he does is complain about his situation and yet he never does anything to fix it.. do you think bear grills would ever get out of the jungle if all he did was complain about the mosquitoes.. no.. the answer to that question is no.

I think the only way to address this is to go on the Jim Rome show on Friday April 23, 2010 and participate in his smack-down marathon. He is the only neutral party in this. Be prepared to bring your A game homes cuz I already got some dirt on you from "yo momma" on MTV.
